How is the Round Rock Express involved?

The Round Rock Express along with the Nolan Ryan Foundation purchased the naming rights to the field with a $250,000 donation to help construct the field and is involved in additional fund raising.

What kind of child qualifies to play?

Basically, any child between the ages of 4 and 19 that cannot play in standard recreational baseball can play in the Miracle League. Typically, it is children with mental and/or physical disabilities.

How many games will there be?

There will be seven weekend of games with games scheduled on Saturdays (Sundays may be used for makeup games if necessary) with each team playing at least one Saturday night game.

Does my child have to make each game?

One of the important aspects of the League is for the kids to feel part of a team. Part of that is committing to be at the games as much as possible. However, there is absolutely no penalty for missing! They are always part of the team! And we always allow for "guest players" so if your child can't make his or her game...please bring him/her to another scheduled game that day!!

Will there be practices?

There are no practices. Coaches may want to get the kids together to meet each other before the first game. The fields are open 30 minutes before each game, if the players want to practice hitting, catching, or just warm up! IT IS IMPORTANT, to try to come early. Even if your child does not want to participate in warmup, they can get used to the field and visit with the coaches and buddies.

How are the games played?

The games are non-competitive, with each player batting, running the bases and scoring each inning. The teams will be limited to approximately 15 - 16 players. Games will last two innings, which typically last one hour.

What happens during Bad Weather?

The Town and Country Complex follows a strict Bad Weather policy. We will delay games at least 30 minutes due to lightning. It is at the discretion of the T&C field marshals and the Miracle League Board to determine the cancelling or postponement of games. We will try to reschedule if possible.

How are Buddies involved?

Each player will have at least one “buddy” at each game. This buddy is there to protect the player from balls, assist the player in batting and running the bases and to be a friend on and off the field. Considering the availability and amount of Buddies, they will be assigned to the same team for the whole season. Buddies will be given a Miracle League shirt for their participation.  They are required to arrive at games thirty minutes before the start of the game and to notify the Miracle League Buddy coordinator at least twenty-four hours prior to the game if they will not be able to make the game.  Buddies start at age 12.

What is the registration fee and how do I register my child to play?

Due to the generous contributions of our community and the incredible fundraising efforts of the Miracle League team, we are now able to allow any child to play without paying a dime in Registration fees. You can register by going to www.tandcsports.org and click on the Miracle League tab and following the instructions. Each new player will receive a team hat and jersey.
